East Northport is a hamlet in the Town of Huntington on Long Island’s North Shore, its name tracing back to an 1873 Long Island Rail Road stop that conductors called “East of Northport.” The hamlet grew out of the old farming communities of Larkfield and Clay Pitts into the largest community in the Town of Huntington by land area, served today by the Northport-East Northport Union Free School District.
